When the world rests
The view outside my window is blanketed in white. Schools and businesses are closed, and for once, there’s no reason to rush out of our cocoon.
This pause feels like a gift – white space to rest without guilt when the world itself slows down.
Rest is essential for our spiritual and physical well-being, and Jesus understood this well. He not only encouraged rest, He modeled it.
He said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31
In this moment, Jesus invites those closest to Him to step away from the noise and simply be in His presence. It’s a reminder that rest is not something we earn, it’s something we’re given.
Wherever you are today, may this be a reminder that rest is an invitation worth accepting.
Take Time to Pause
- When life slows unexpectedly, how do you usually respond?
- Where might God be inviting you to rest with Him in this season?
